Why is our apple leather so environmentally friendly? By producing leather from apple residues, we save a lot of CO2 emissions compared to the production of conventional PU.
The apples for the innocent smoothies and juices are pressed. The juice comes out of the press, as does the solid apple residue, which consists of the fibers of the pulp, seeds and stems. In professional circles, this is called "pomace."
This pomace is dried and finely ground so that it can be further processed. It is then processed into vegan apple leather using a special machine and the addition of other ingredients.
